I have a stock Rem 700 CDL in 300 RUM. Does anyone have any experience loading the 215gr Berger Hybrid in the stock magazine box? My concern is the bullet being too long to even be seated properly in the case after it's seated to fit the magazine. I already know it will be nowhere near the lands.

You can easily load it to fit in the magazine. The good news is that the Hybrids are not very depth sensitive, so it shouldn't hinder your accuracy either.

sir
plus 1 on that

i load them to published coal then lengthen them to a) find a better spot
b) to just fit in the mag.
all sighted at 200.
i in my hunting rifles, i have actually had VERY accurate loads at mag length.
i pretty much have claimed the title of average shot BUT, i will tell you this as a fact
300 win mag 210 gr berger hunting vlds and hybrids at mag length....anywhere from .347 to.525 for 5 shot groups and i suck, any one of the other readers could probably shoot 1 holers

338 lap mag 300 gr hunting vlds and 338 250 hybrids also way sub moa like .625 at mag length plus .010

here comes the winner:
6.5x284 140 vlds 0.015 off the lands and still fits in the mag a genuine no **** cloverleaf for 5 shots.

if you are a hunter as opposed to a target shooter i believe all of these will fall clearly into acceptable accuray up on a mountain or in a tree.
i apologize for being so verbose, but, i put in so much time trying to get a super accurate load that was clearly better than my ability,i almost went nuts.

my sincere belief is that the confidence in the gun makes the shot. everything you do is just icing, if you know your gun and feel like its an old friend the rest will take care of itself.

I too suffer from this affliction. Yes I am an average hunter with average shooting ability who is slowly starting to better himself. I do love messing with the loads and achieving the accuracy on the bench that I can't, yet, utilize in the field.

I posted the same problem on here. I was told no way, the bullet is seated to deep in the cartridge. I would like clarification myself. My browning mag will only accept 3.6 COL. There is a pic in that post of the finished product. I now have pulled the bullets and loaded them differently. Based on what I was told. Now I have a bunch loaded with Hornady 180 btsp interlocks? I'm interested in what you come up with.

from the pic, what i can construe is this:
you are the proud owner of a single shot rifle with those bullets.
my opinion only:
switch to a gameking grand slam or another quality flat base bullet,if you desire a repeater
my contention is that the rifle you have is stock, and your mag box is swami standard
measuring a factory round should give you a starting point. then work from there

yes, it is a factory Browning Abolt. The round I have loaded now are sammi length. They are Hornady 180gn btsp interlock. Gonna give those a wirl for now. I was just wondering if there was a way with the hybrids. By my pic, I think not. At least not in a Browning mag. Refering to the OP's rifle. The 700 Remy's might have a larger mag? I don't know. Thought about loading some 215 to single shot for long range, and some 180's for a little closer up. I could keep the 180s in the mag. But, it sounds like more trouble than its worth. To me anyway.

The Berger 210 gr VLD hunting bullet should work fine at magazine length. It's nose is .176" shorter than the 215 and the boat tail is .060" shorter.

I don't remember exactly what my magazine box measures. My current load is with the 200gr Nosler Accubond. I think it's seated .020 or .030 over max saami spec. (Basically seat to fit the magazine. I'm going on days off finally and I wil sit down take some measurement.

I'd be interested to know how this works out. How well does the Accubond shoot for you? I was wanting to use the Hybrids, because my browning has a mile of freebore built into it. I was told, the hybrids like the jump.
