My son and I had to cut our mule deer hunt short, before taking a shot, but we were ready:
I had the "Ridge Carbon Wilderness" in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 3-15 Leupold HD5 and handloaded 140 gr Sierra Tipped GameKing bullets. It's on the Ultradyne carbon tripod in the photo.
My son had his Wilderness Ridge in 7mm Rem Mag with a 4.5-14x Leupold HD3. His ammo was handloaded with the 150 gr Hornady ELD-X at nearly 3200 fps and with roughly 1/2 MOA accuracy. Potent combo...
Funny, when we were both younger, I always had the more powerful rifle. Things change.
