Hi,

I did many beding job on Rem style action bot never did a Sako/Mauser style action

I know I have to keep some clearance behind the rear tang but the question is about the recoil log.

Should I keep clearance in front of it? I guess so...

Should the recoil log make contact with the pilar and the compound? I have no idea!

Thanks, Mart

Thanks for your answer.

Did you see any difference in accuracy between both way to do the front of the lug?

The only real way to discern if there is a difference, is to bed the front and see what the accuracy is in that configuration. Then take that standard, and bed it without any bedding in the front of the lug and see if the accuracy changes and how. For a standard hunting rifle, I think accuracy would be acceptable either way. There are more variables in the accuracy equation like action, barrel, load development...etc that will make a difference..

Just my 02.

I see. it is not bilt to be a hunting rifle but a long range rig.

Thanks for you input.
