Barrel dimensions required

I am looking at having a bog standard Remington Mountain rifle re-barreled with a custom barrel. I want something a bit longer and fluted and thought the new Rem Titanium Alaskan profile could be a winner.

This rifle will not be a long range rig, but a general purpose carry around rifle for use out to 450-500yds, calibre will be 7MM-08

Does anyone have all the dimensions required for the Titanium profile etc

To get an idea on barrel contours look on Lilja precision barrels web site under barrel contours
and he has a section on Factory contours that will help.

If he doesen't have what you want he will cut one for you with your demisions.

His quality and service is second to none and he delivers on time .

Also the last time I talked to him about a custom contour he had almost 300 programed
and he found one that someone had cut that allmost perfectly matched what I wanted
and he did not have to re-program my contour. 6 weeks later I receved the barrel.

Just a place to start.

I was considering using a New Zealand barrel maker if I could get the dimensions. Our dollar has dropped big time against the greenback so importing is not such a good idea at present.
I don't think our barrel maker has the dimensions for the Titanium profiled barrels

I think it has a No 4 contour. Be aware that Trueflite has a slightly different numbering system. I think it would be about a trueflite No 3. Check the barrel dimesions for a No4 on Lilja's website and compare them to Trueflites.

My Trueflite No4 is closer to a Lilja No 5.

You are welcome.

The main reason for talking to Lilja was to get the dimensions of the remingtion barrel ( I
am sure he would have something to go by.

Then if you wanted to use another barrel maker you would know what size ( Contour )
to ask for.

And as KIWI said most barrel makers have different numbering systems and all you can do
for a compairson is go by dimensions and weight.

I sent Dan Lilja an email but to be honest I am not expecting a reply, hope he proves me wrong!

Otherwise I will take the verniers into the sports shop if I can find one who stocks the Rem TI, with the recent dollar drop they have risen to at least NZ$4200 yikes!!
