James, I shot the data for Barnes #3 reloading manual and worked in their ballistics lab for 5 years, 2000-05.i have hunted using Barnes bullets exclusively since 1991 until recently when time to reload and shoot is not as convenient. I have killed deer and elk with them in calibers from 223 Rem to 375 WBY. Largest blacktail to my credit with 223 and 50gr XLC, 146" at 120yds, 1 shot. Majority of my critters were with 280 Rem, 7x300 Wby, 140gr pills. The thing that I found was regardless of impact distance, exit wound damage was minimal. Lack of jellied blood shot on entrance and exit wound. Only recovered 1 bullet. All calibers shot under 1". In short terminal performance is impressive, never fired more than once on any animal. Hunt with confidence and hope you have pics to share later on. Pics of my Utah bull with 375WBY and 270gr TSX. 2750FPS, 5 shot 100yd groups .440". Complete pass through, went 40yds.
