Barnard PL 338 lapua mag/6.5x55 build

This is a thread about my new rifle that I got built this summer for long range work.
Here is a picture of the beauty:

It is a Barnard PL single shot action with a 30" True Flite barrel in heavy palma profile chambered in 338 lapua magnum with a norwegian made muzzle brake. It has a 25 moa rail and the optics is a Sigthron SIII 10-50x60 with mil-dot and 0.5cm clicks. The stock is a Master Class F-class laminate stock.

I also have a similar 30" true-fllite barrel with a custom 6.5x55 chamber (.296 NK & .180 FB 1°-30 lead) that also is fitted with the action.

To use this barrel I have boltface bushing from True-Flite and an extra extractor.

Haven't had time to shoot it much yet, but accuracy is very promising with both barrels.

Did you go with the 1-9 or 1-10 twist trueflite barrel?
What velocity are you getting with the 300gr and your 30 inch barrel?

I have the 1-9 twist barrel.

I haven't done much load development yet, but most of the shots have been 93 grs n570, fed 215 primers, lapua brass, 300 grs Berger hybrid OTM and a COL of 3.8" (96.5 mm). This is giving me 2770 feet/s at 11 degrees Celsius, and seems to be a moderate load in terms of pressure.

There is still room for more n570 and the COL is not at max. I have 98 cartridges loaded with this receipt ready for shooting now, and when I have shot them I plan to do some more load development.

N570 is a great powder in the medium 338 magnums in my 338-416 imp N570 gives me 3100fps with the 300gr with great accuracy. It will be interesting how your load developement goes keep us posted

Did some more shooting today at approx 960 yards.
The Sightron failed on me just before christmas. Not sent it in yet, but I guess it goes on the warranty. These videos was done with a IOR 2.5-10x42 FFP on top.
