AZ Unit 10 Late Hunt

Check out MullinsOutfitters.com I have personally guided that hunt a couple of times and enjoy it very much. Late hunts can be quite a challenge around here but that one is my favorite. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks so much for the responses. I have read up and it can be a hard hunt to get a 330 Bull and above. They say you see alot of raghorns, but most big bull are hiding or broke up. Most guides I've spoken with, to include one above, have said between 280 and 320 seems to be the norm.

Thats about right. It really comes down to your physical capabilities on that hunt. If you can handle the terrain and be able to hunt all day you can kill a great bull! A couple of years ago we took a 365 we had been watching for months on the late hunt. He had given everyone the slip on the earlier hunts so we kept tabs on him every day and got him opening morning of the late hunt! Last time I guided that hunt we had 4 hunters and all but 1 of them were VERY PHYSICALLY LIMITED but all went home with bulls! The rul;e of thumb on late bull tags is usually a clean unbroken 6 is a keeper. What you hold out for depends greatly on your capabilities.

I stay in great physical shape by running and working out every day, to include lifting and running 4-5 miles.

I try to practice LR Shooting as much as I can, trying to shoot a tactical match every month with my 308. We push the distance out as far as the range allows, 754 yards.

However, I will be shooting a 12 lbs 338 RUM or 338 lapua on this hunt. With the 338 RUM I've been able to kill Mule Deer out to 620 yards, shooting a 250 gr SMK. I have never had the chance to shoot at anything further, but I will get a ton of practice prior to 25, Nov 2011.

What do you know about Moss back Outfitters, I have seen alot of their video's?

Check out the link below. It should give you a good idea of what to expect and show you some examples of our success. The post written by Coosfan with all the pics is our guide service Mullins Outfitters. Coosfan is Jim Mullins. The 365 I mentioned earlier is NOT pictured. Jim does not post pics of the bigger bulls because he does not want everyone to think bulls like that are the norm. They are not! The top bull pictured only scored 300 but I would not pass that bull on a late hunt. The 4th pic was a 330 bull and I definately would not pass him on this hunt. Hunt hard for solid bulls like these and you will have a great adventure!

Best of luck,

P.S. The website in that link is the most popular hunting website in AZ and would be a great place to ask about which outfitters are better than others.
