AZ elk with Son

Good times!

My 11 year old son was with me for the first two days of my elk hunt. I had a bull tag in 6B by Flagstaff, AZ.

Although I was looking forward to chasing a big bull, I wanted my son to experience a full elk hunt, so I went for first opportunity. It happen faster than expected, like in the first 30 minutes on opening day! lol

The 284 Win shooting a 168 VLD hunter, did its job real good. It was great hunting in fresh snow that fell the night before.

There is nothing better than hunting with your kid/s. Besides that young elk will be much better eating then an old large bull! Congratulations!

Congratulations. I remember my sons first elk with both a bow and rifle. Also now have taken my grandson out and we got his first elk with the rifle. We are still working on the archery one. Good times. Again congratulations.

You need to get him through Hunter's Education and get HIM out chasing bulls!!! Nothing better than putting your kid on a game animal.
