Athlon or Nikon Black?

Looking for a new 6-24 budget scope. Low light gathering and decent tracking. Anyone have thoughts on these or others in the price range?

I have a Nikon Black FX1000 6-24 and I have an Athlon Midas BTR gen2 4.5-27.

Problem with Nikon is they announced their exit from the riflescope business. ****es me off that I bought a $600 scope that now will no longer have a warranty.

The Athlon has better glass than the Nikon. I also prefer the very fine reticle in the Athlon. Nikon has an auto shutoff feature on the illuminated reticle, which the Athlon does not. The Athlon does not come with sunshade or protective lense caps, which the Nikon did. Other than that no complaints with either.

That is a heck of a deal...I own three of those scopes and are solid as a rock...I wish I had got them that cheap! Past one was $315.00

I don't own either of those scopes, however I have been looking at the Athlon Midas BTR Gen2 4.5-27, to me, that is the best bargain, prior to that I was looking at the Vortex Diamondback 6-24, but think the Athlon would be a better choice. Steve from Hammer Bullets is who encouraged me to look at them. I do plan to order the Athlon I mentioned for my new rifle I plan to buy in the next month.

I just got that exact scope and I friggin love it. Be aware, the reticle is rather thin. That is what I love about it, but I can see some folks maybe dont care for that.
