Athlon Optics

I thought I would old try one for a ar that I built. I chose the Argos 6×24 mildotand couldn't be happier. The glass is clear and tracking is perfect. I am not a "have to have the best" type of guy. I feel for the money they are hard to beat.

Had a ares in MOA/MOA mil. Worked fine. Took it out to 300 yards on a Savage .308. Sold off the rifle and the scope. Switched to mil. Turrets are mushy but can be fixed by taking grease off the o-Rings. I did it easy to do.

My brother has an Argos BTR on an AR15. He has had no issues with it. Tracks fine. Turrets mushy. Again to much grease.

I also had a Cronus. Was an absolutely awesome scope. Glass, clicks, relatability all great but it was in MOA and I transitioned all my rifles to MIL. I moved over to SWFAs since they all use the same reticle and are MIL/MIL FFP.

If you get a Cronus or Ares you'll be happy.

You should move this to the optics forum and not elk hunting. Probably get more help.

I have a Midas 4x16 and an older Ares 4.5x27, they work great. The turrets on the Midas are the newer design and firmer than the Ares I have. I think the newer Ares has the same or similar turret design now that corrected the mushiness people were complaining about.

I have the Midas BTR Gen 2 4.5-27x50. Used for deer this year for the first time. Love the scope. Sharp, clear, and tracks perfectly. The true zero stop they added to the gen 2 is also excellent. No issues shooting this buck at 685 yrds.

I have the Ares BTR 4.5-27x50, the scope is clear and tracks well but once over 15 the view gets a little smaller and not worth having. I took it off my .300wm and it's on a shelf now.

Thanks guys I just received a Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 and I am happy so far.
I got the mil reticle and am determined to learn the mil-rad system.
Very clear and works wonders in dim light.
Yes I will go to the optics section for future posts on this scope.
