I was drawn for an any elk rifle tag for units 2a/2b Dec 4-13 this year. I plan on making a couple of scouting trips in Oct and Nov, but I have never hunted this area before. This will also be my first late season elk hunt. Does anybody have any experience in this area? I know its not really a trophy unit, but I am mostly looking for freezer meat. However a decent bull mounted on the wall sure would be nice too.
