Are dies interchangeable?

I was just wondering if dies from different manufactors are interchangeable, like I have a lyman press, can I use RCBS og forrester dies in that press too?

Hi as long as all the dies are 7/7" X14 threads per inch you are good to go older dies and hand dies are diferent but most of the comercial dies available are that standard thread for compatability.
Just watch out their are 2 diferent styles of shell holder one that only fits LEE and the other fits nearly all other manufacturers but LEE also makes them to fit the other design aswell.

Yes you can buy any brand of standard dies you want.

i have a set of rcbs dies that work like a charm in my lee press /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif but i didnt know that shell holders didnt interchange with lee.

why couldnt my parents have named me something like MAGNUS?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Lee makes some Lee specific shellholders for their priming tool.. but their press shellholders are just like everything else on the market.
