Ok so I almost ordered another big 30 cal. I have a very nice .300 win mag. Then a few years back built an ultra light .30 Sherman to match my ultralight 6.5 creedmore.
Now these are extremely light as I went titanium on everything even the action screws. Pierce to action and bolts. Only place I added weight was the manners eh5. Even topped with a March 2.5-25 because they seemed very light.
Now as many of you know being this light can be tough to shoot long range. It is my backpack rifle and was about to have Kirby build me another.30 heavier as I have some spot I can walk to in an hour or so and they are great for sitting and waiting for elk. So I could carry a heavier rifle on those days for shots over 800-1000. But what if on those days I added weight to my current setup. Would that help keep the rifle planted as the bullet travels out? Kirby has mentioned rifle movement before so it had me thinking what about this?
