AR COMP by Alliant

Shot some test loads with AR-Comp in the 6.5 Lapua with 120NBT, 130, and 140grn Berger bullets. Good stuff. Very consistent and accurate with all three bullets. Seems a touch faster burning than RL15. About 2800fps tops with the 140VLD.

My rifle really liked the 140VLD. H4350 and RL17 gave me top velocities, 2900 to 3000fps with the big Berger. I settled on H4350 @2960fps. Should stay supersonic to 1300yds+. Gonna try it out on a big Missouri buck next week. He is not going to like it one bit..

Sounds good, can't wait to see the pics of the buck. H4350 seems to be the go to powder for the heavy bullets in the 6.5 Lapua.

Reviving the dead here. Been awhile. Shooting some AR Comp again, this time with the 175 TMK. So far so good. Shot a 4 shot group at 200yds prone that measured .937" (.45MOA). SD of 2 and an ES of 4. I have always found this powder to produce tight numbers and easy to tune. This was also used in newly minted brass from Peterson brass company out of Pittsburgh, PA. Works pretty good. Hopefully going to get out and do a second round with the load trying some different lengths to fine tune.
