vog2hunt _ Howdy I'm going to try and send a couple pics of my " .22-35 Remington " wildcat... The shinier cartridge shows my favorite bullet for use w/ a high velocity .224" calibre wildcat; when shooting " Soybeanus Digestus ". The bullet is Hornady's superb 55SX, and it is shown seated .125" into the neck. This cartridge combo was shot from a 24" SS Hart 1-14 5-groove. The case w/ the satin finish has looked that way for 40+ years, since using Birchwood Casey " Case Bright " on it. The bullet shown seated is a custom 52gr HP that was made by Ron Fifer of Decatur, IN using Remington 52gr HP pattern dies. When shooting this grain wt, I could completely fill the case w/ IMR 4350, have great accuracy; and safe pressures. I also ran the .22-35 Remington in a 28" SS K & P 1-8 5-groove, shooting Hornady 75"A"-Max exclusively. I have a letter from P.O. Ackley dated 10 Apr 1975, wherein he gives comment on my .22-35 wildcat's design. Ackley stated... " The .35 Remington should make a good .22 calibre cartridge when necked down to take the smaller bullet . " My favorite .224" calibre round for anti-groundhog use. With regards, 357Mag
