I just got a box of Berger VLD Hunters and am using RL 23. I want a good starting place. I did do a few test runs at 73gr and about .020, .030, .040" off the lands. The group was ok but the velocity's were around 3130 with an ES of 17. I am thinking the sweet spot was around the 020" to .030". I am going to load more but would like to know if anyone else is doing the same thing. Pretty sure my velocity should be mid 2900. I am shooting a Browning X-Bolt 300 WIN MAG, 1-9.5 twist. I am using Gunwerks brass that has been shot a few times. I anneal my brass every time, and do the proper case prep. Let me know what you think and if there are any good ideas!!!!
