Anyone have experience with 175 SMK when used on elk?

My friend is considering using the 175 SMK with his STW for elk and deer. Unfortunately the rifle didn't shoot the 180 Berger VLD. He is getting 3200 fps or so from his 30" barrel with the 175 SMK.

Any information on performance, good or bad, when used on elk would be appreciated.
