Is anybody running any type of wildcats based on the .376 steyr? Specifically in the 6.5mm - 7mm range.

The benefits I see would be:
1. longer neck than the 6.5wsm(able to seat the bullets further out)
2. more case capacity than the 6.5-06 / 6.5-284
3. similar capacity to the 6.5-270wsm, but better feeding design

Give me your opinions. Looking for a 6.5mm hunting round to push 140gr (sierra, berger) @ 3100fps out of a 26" barrel, without going to a throat burner.

.376 steyr is based on the 9.3x64mm brenneke case which in turn is the parent case for a the 6.5x63mm messner magnum.

My dad has a pistol in 7mmx376. calls it the 7 sundance after the city it was made in. He goes by yotefever on here, mabey he'll chime in...
