At the risk of being banned or laughed off the forum ,I was wondering if anyone had any experience or opinion on the vangaurd endeavor hd 20x60x82 hd spotting scope, because o have an opportunity to get one direct from Vanguard for 350.00 new.

very good. The vortex razor line has better coating so comparison might be border tomato to potato but the customer service is great, and the image is amazing at long distance and full mag.
I flat out lost the eye piece on a scouting trip and vanguard set me a replacement for free. The focus dial has a fast focus and a fine focus, and there is a built in adjustable sunshade. I have gotten clean imagining on animals at over a mile away. Like most scopes, in low light settings is where the clarity starts to diminish. Going on a lower power setting helps however. For the price point it is great. If you are looking for exclusively shooting, I rarely look at bullet holes on paper through a spotting scope past 100y, but .223 holes are way easy to see, so I'll leave it at that. I've got some good vapor trails while digi scoping with this as well. The adjustable eye piece is nice to set eye relief and is rubber padded. Comes with a nice usable outside case.
Nit picking the mount that wraps around the scope, that attaches to the bipod came a little loose after about a year.. just took a screwdriver and tightened it back up...not really and issue.

Thanks df,I am on a fixed income and I can't afford top tier 1 glass but at the same time I don't want a cheap Barska i guess how the saying goes get the best you can afford and this is about my limit, thanks for the link as well .
How you say this compares to the Bushnell elite is or vortex diamond back or viper line?

what do you want to use it for?
Way better than the elite and I havent look through the diamondback but the vortex razor is it on par with image sharpness (not as much aberration)..the only thing that sets apart the razor HD and why I have it is because the coating and its its ability for better color spectrums of light it presents to the eye. I mean you can really see the definition of animal features and under different light conditions.. the vanguard will have the same clarity at less of a price point....the color definition wont be as great and will depend on time of day and if you are at max mag or not, but its not a $1300 spotter either so its to be expected.
It's probably the best spotter you can get for the money....best thing is..its such a hidden secret...no one really talks about how decent that spotting scope is because its not a well known name brand like vortex.

Well I bought primarily for hunting out here in the SW Az either muley or harder to spot the coues whitetail.Secondly the shooting range and nature watching. You re right because I read birdwatching reviews and on rockslide forum. Gave it great reviews but most hardcore hunting sites don't have any mention of Vanguard.
I can tell you they have great customer support. I had the xf model and the 1st day I had it it fell and broke the ocular I called to see about getting a replacement one and they told me the whole scope had to replaced I had a little money saved after paying my monthly bills and unasked how much to upgrade and they said 60.00$ so of course I jumped in it and it showed up this morning.
So far I love it I l live about 21/2 miles from the sirrieta mountain range peak and i could make out individual trees and rocks.

I agree you are right but I don't understand as good of a performer and price why it's so obscure and u heard of on hunting forums?
I'll start doing more viewing in the next few days and eventually order the adapter so I can digiscope with my phone I live in a very rural area and routinely have wild life on my or neighboring property .
Thanks again for input.

name brand. people get wrapped up in what the name says...vanguard isnt really known company for having a tactical coolness line of optics...actually majority of their stuff is middle of the road...i like keeping hidden things like vanguard quiet..keeps prices down. SWFA was a really low price point before it got popular. also not a known scope for tactical shooting purpose... for $300...works better than some $800 named scopes brands.

I have this very scope...it's very good for the money. Have used it fair amount over two years...I use it on a higher end manfrotto carbon tripod with benro S2 pan head..great budget set up. Heavy but whatever...I pack it. First time using it dang if it didn't find me a bedded toad of a muley, biggest yet!...I started picking cover apart at about 1600 yards after spotting does. Bingo! Was able to judge him pretty good at that range. That's exactly why I got it! So it does the job! Now I did screw up bad last year and looked thru my buddies swaro HD, dang!..... Wow!!...

Koo. Yeah I am trying not to due that, I bount a Sunpack 234 carbon fiber with a pistol grip ,I haven't packed on any hills yet and size wise it seemed a lot more co.pact than the viper and razors I saw at sportsmans. I did set up the scope in the front of my property last week and picked out 4 hours whitetail grazing at 21/2 miles at that range I couldn't tell if they were bucks or does, but it was great to see things at such a distance .
