I'm not the original owner and don't know the round count. Super clean for a 50 year old gun.

The appearance of the stock would suggest a lightly used rifle.

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in round count. The 222 is way far from a barrel burner and in a rifle that wouldn't typically be a high volume rig. Combined with appearance suggest it's a non issue.

OP, best of luck. Not sure I'd part with an heirloom piece like this.
