Another Rifle Choice

I have no insight on a gun builder, I would be back to 50 opinions and options.
The choice is always yours. Regardless of which route you take, you will be inundated with opinions and options. The difference with a custom build is that you get the components you want. If you spend that much money, you might as well have a say on the components.

My last custom-built was in 2023, and to a lesser degree than your second-chance deal, I named it in honor of my aging Karelian Bear Dog, Thor, https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/my-338-thor.327058/#post-2776837. He turned 15 last October. You can either work closely with a gunsmith and discuss your build or acquire all components yourself and have a gunsmith build it for you. I chose the latter as mine.

I've got a Seekins Element in 7 PRC that I've been very happy with. Last time I went to the range, it was shooting 1/2 MOA at 500 yards with three different handloads. That puts it in the same league as the GA Precision customs that I have had built. I like my customs a lot but they cost about double the Seekins and take about a year to obtain. The full customs all have a nice EH1 stock that I like better than the Seekins Element stock but Seekins was happy to add the accessories I wanted on their stock for me.
