Hello, I just found this site and have been lurking for a few weeks but not posting.
I am very interested in LR hunting and have made a few kills over 500 yards with my longest being a black bear at 899 yards with my .300 Wby. built on a Rem. model 700 with a 27" Pac-Nor barrel and HS precision stock topped off with a Leupold VariX 3 with a custom reticle done by a CO back east who used to do Leupold's custom work and repairs.
I have been shooting the gun frequently since I had it built about 10 years ago and have become very confident and proficient with it as have my kids who also shoot it. My oldest son 14 killed a mulie with it last year at 707 yards with one shot after a lot of pre-season practice.
I have 4 kids ages 6-16 so I am pretty busy with various activities but we find time to shoot and hunt. It is VERY RARE that I hunt without them and my wife of 17 years and my father who is 70.
