I grew up with SFP scopes in the south and killed my share with them from 1970 until a few years ago. Moved to Montana in 1998 and used a 3-9 Leupold SFP, sighted in at 6 power and missed my share of animals. If you sight in at 6 and dial your turret to 9 you will shoot high, how high depends on yardage. Done it too many times to argue it. Switched to FFP scopes and it is a whole different world.
On normal FFP reticles they are small on low power and enlarge as power goes up except the PR-1 reticle Leupold pioneered. It stays full size from low to high. What else do you want to know?
We are guessing you mean magnification ring and not turret. The turrets are the knobs that adjust the elevation and wind age, they don't affect magnification. Also, the POI shift from changing magnification isn't regulated to SFP scopes, it has more to do with quality of optic.

You're confusing "turret" and "magnification".
If you're scope moves when you change magnification…. Then you need a new scope.
On my old Leupolds it was magnification ring but I do have newer Leupold with turrets that will still put you in a missing the elk of a lifetime situation, that put me on the quest for FFP scopes several years ago but they are a bit more expensive.
Turning the turrets on a SSP scope changed more than magnification for me,it made my scope shoot much higher,they all do except FFP scopes.
FFP scopes stay the same throughout the turret adjustment.
For me the problem for FFP was the tiny reticle on the low end but Leupold fixed that with the PR-1 reticle.

Not correct. If you dial a SFP scopes turrets up 6 MOA, your reticle will move up 6 MOA, the exact same as a FFP. The turret does not know what plane your reticle is in and the turrets does not change magnification.
I believe you are using incorrect terms in referencing what you experience.

You are referring to the subtensions in the reticle changing with magnification in SFP, not the "turret".

In August I paid $697 (including shipping and tax). It sits on a 6.5 PRC. The peace of mind of having an unlimited lifetime warranty is a big plus. I also have two of the Strike Eagle 5-25x56 (300 WBY and 6.5 PRC) and they have been amazing. My buddy has a Swaro 5-25 on his 338 Win. After looking through my 5-25x56 he bought two for his two new 6.5 PRC builds. He said his Swaro 5-25 was obviously better glass, but his eyes couldn't discern enough of a difference to justify the significant cost discrepancy.

Say what? Changing the magnification level on a rifle scope does not change the point of aim of the center of the cross hairs, FFP or SFP. What you think that the millions of variable magnification SFP scopes produced and sold don't hold zero when you change magnification levels?
Actually, This is not correct either... If you dial scope turrets up 6 MOA, your reticle will move DOWN 6 MOA to raise your POI.
You are correct, I was referring to it's POI to the target, trying to keep it easier as some seem to be confused already.
