Accurizing a savage model 99

Does anyone have any tips for accurizing a savage model 99?
I have a 308 and 250-3000, both with the brass rotary magazine.
The triggers are kind of poor, shots will string, but they're heirlooms so I'm wondering if there's any tips that can help accuracy?

for target shooting, very reliable for putting meat on the table.
