A dumb question due to a dumb rifle driver

There's at least two ways to ask this.

Gun is a sub half moa shooter.

From yesterday to to to day the zero went straight up 2 MOA.

The only thing that could be found that was out of order was both action screws were able to be tightened 1/8 turn each. That don't seem like much. This is where I'm lacking.

Any thoughts?

I tightened 'em and will recheck the zero.

That could definitely do it, if they were loose. 1/8 turn doesn't seem like much, but if that 1/8th was the difference from loose to tight, it could definitely do it. I'd also check ALL the mounts/bases etc.

Did you clean the rifle ? Oil in the barrel can make the first few fly high...
