I blew them up with 53 grains of Vectan 8000 in my 8 twist 6mm-06 - must have been spinning like crazy. Only 1 sharp cut bullet hole at 100 out of 5. No blow up problems with Hornady 87 HPBT with 54 grains of V8000.
No blow ups with 10 twist 6mm AI & 87 V-Max®.
Using 52 grains of 4000MR gave a nice 5 shot group about .75 (horizontal) with 3 in a clover leaf - the puffy 7-10 mph wind is my excuse - same sight setting as above. Very little drop at 300 and pleasing splat sounds on 3 inch steel - good BANG, ZIP, SPLAT happy stuff. I expect a wide spectrum of destructive expansion on rodents. Chronograph next step.
I managed to get 1 lb. of RL23 at my local Sportsman's Warehouse today for $31.99 - a good powder for the 6mm-06, but it really needs something slower for my good stock of 105 Barnes Match Burners, 100 gr. Sierra TGK's, & 107 Sierra MK's.
