My current hunting load for whitetail in my 243win is a Sierra Gameking 100g
It.s running right at 3000 fps

I've been wanting to tinker with a new load and am intrigued by the Barnes TSX @ 85g

all of my shots when using this particular gun and load will be under 200 yards with most under 100.

Can anyone tell me about this bullet and it's performance on whitetail? Most of my concern comes from the fact that it is an 85g pill.

Thanks
Dan

The Barnes X Bullets hit like hammers and vary rarely come apart. They usually retain 100% of their weight. The 85 gr. TSX is a very good bullet and so is the 80 gr. TTSX. I have loaded X bullets since the original X bullets back in the 90's and it has always been a one shot and done deal. At the shorter distance you will be shooting these should be perfect. BULLET WEIGHT is not an issue with these bullets.
