8 year old's first deer

While I was in Wyoming last week my hunting buddy was good enough to take my son out for the youth season. Jared got his first deer at 80 yards with his H&R 20 gauge slug gun. He was one pumped up young man when he called me! It is great to have friends like that.......

That sure is one happy kid! and a great shot....80 yards with a slug gun is great. Open sights? scope?

His gun has a Nikon Pro-staff 3-9 x 40 installed. He was shooting Lightfield slugs. They really hit like a hammer!

Last year when I was a small part of Jett's daughter getting her first buck it was a experiance that I will remember. It is a joy to watch these kids get there first animal. I couldn't tell who was the happiest Jett or Mary Pat. That was real good shooting for Jared. I hope he continues to practice and stays in the shooting and hunting game. Dad hope you got a lot of good pics to remember this event. They will only be needed to refresh the memory you never forget it. Again congrats to Jared, keep up the good shooting. Dan
