7PRC and H1000

I am developing a load for a clients 7PRC, I am curious what others have found for a load using H1000 and 175gr ELDX? As of now, this barrel may like it between 65.0 - 66.0 grains, I don't have a Chrono yet to verify velocity, maybe by Christmas, but I would like to hear what others have found with this combo, this is using a 25" barrel. Was this powder charge your accuracy node in this cartridge?

I am using the brass from Hornady 180 ELD-M ammunition I tested the barrel on. It is for a client, so I did not go out and purchase brass to test a load.

I just started working with this combo last weekend, these were my results. Rifle is a Remington 700 LR

@hsell Yes, I was using that load data, but wanted to see if anyone noticed a trend with this cartridge and powder combo has a sweet spot.

I've got 10 pressed up for this weekend with a charge of 67.1 grains but going to use a federal 210 to see if I can tighten up the sd, I'll probably loose some velocity but I'm okay with that. I have another 7prc that likes standard primers vs magnums

That is good to know, I have been using CCI LRM on this one, trying to keep the amount of reloading down, I don't want to burn through my supply of primers before they ever come back on the market.

I wasn't even able to get 3 reloads on hornady brass before I lost the primer pockets.

These seem to be holding up well so far, I have not taken them to the point I am showing pressure signs, but the biggest charge I have set so far is 66gr of H1K. According to the Hornady load, that is below max, not much but still below.

I dunno. I wasn't able to get over 2900 with a 180 with hornady brass. I switched to ADG and I am over 3000

Yeah, I thought of ordering brass for all of the rifles I build for customers, but decided against it and just recycle the factory ammo brass. I have to prep it more, weight sort, anneal, trim, etc to get it up to par to begin load development.

I am shifting everything I own away from hornady. I don't think their quality meets my expectations.

If you want to save the brass, use a mild load. As mentioned you will be LUCKY to get a 3rd load. So if your using factory ammo to load from, most likely your 1 and done.
