am lookingto rade my 300 weatherby in on a 7mm weatherby.my question is what are your faverate deer hunting loads for roys 7mm.my 68 year old shoulder has had enought of the old 300.the 7 will be i feel a lot more comferatable to shoot.

Ann I don't shoot one but my best friend is uses one off and on—he shoots 168s almost exclusively in it—we use 7828 ssc in it—I think 66.5 grains if I remember right…around 2900 FPS—it's a hammer. We were were talking the other day about running lighter hammer bullets (131 grain hammer hunters) in his weatherby—I think it has a 1-9 in it. Should be flat as heck and fast, fast, fast…

A limbsaver butt pad might allow you to keep the rifle in your arsenal if you are okay with a little upgrading? They really reduce felt recoil in my opinion.

I had to tone down my 300rum, post neck surgery. Had a brake put on, really is pleasant to shoot now.

My favorite bullets in 7mm, including having 7STW and 7mmdakota, is the 160 accubond. Hands down my favorite.

If you want to go lighter, try the 150ab or 150 Scenar
