Yes I have read alot about this gun never took off and so on but I received my sendero with the fluted bull barrel for Fathers day 200q and up till now have been able to hit a 4 inch square out to 400 yards with factory ammo. I have bought all the reloading equipment need . What I'm wanting to know is the anybody on the site that had a 7mm ultra with a load that they suggest I start with? My factory ammo is a 140 grain bonded bullet that runs out of muzzle sty 3375.

Thanks in advanve

I shot some 168lrab with rl33 @ 2950 or so....shot well out to 777(my favorite rock)......killed elk....would imagine it killing most anything....
All I remember....

7828 SSC and Retumbo have worked very well with 162 grain bullets. Great accuracy and excellent velocity. Loads are published, start at min and work up. Mine has a 28" barrel and will spit 162s out at nearly 3400 fps and that is a at a full 2 grains below published max for Retumbo. All three of the RUMs I have loaded for hit max velocity or above well below published max loads. I highly recommend Fed 215 or Win Mag primers. CCI mags will click boom or fail to fire with this big a powder load.

DO NOT load these below published minimum. This is not the round to be shooting reduced loads in.

The RUM is hard on barrels but while they last, you can't argue about the results on Game. Have shot Big moose at 550 on down to yotes (NOT fur friendly) on the half mile line. Great shooting round that bucks the wind well and wind is an issue where I hunt.

Mine loves the 190 Matrix Bullets. I still have a couple boxes which should be the life of my barrel. Whatever you decide keep in mind the 7 RUM is an extremely overbore caliber. These overbores aren't designed for barrel life, they are designed for speed. You can somewhat control the rate at which these barrels get shot out by loads and frequency of use. If you don't care, then there's a ton of opportunity.

Are you planning on having your rifle re barreled?

My plan is to rebarrel my rifle when it can no longer hold the accuracy I expect. I would assume that will be in the next year or 2. Are you interested in my barrel? For the right price, I'll unscrew it and send it to you.

No my barrel has only had maybe 150 rounds shot thru it. But I'm just now getting where I have the time to shoot a couple times monthly so the rounds will start adding up. The reason I was asking who are you going to use to rebarrel your rifle and are you going to stay with the 7RUM. I know they get alot of the round never took off and so on. But I love my 7mm Ultra Sendero. I know I'm asking alot of questions but what your trigger pull tension?

My 7 RUM was the gun that started my addiction. It will always be a 7 RUM. JE Custom will rebarrel my rifle when it's time and it will have an Assassin brake. My Timney Trigger is set at 2 lbs.

I load for a buddy that has one. 175 Gameking over 81 grains of 7828 gives 3000 for and excellent accuracy. He took a buck at 675 with it last year.

I know what you mean my 7 RUM HAS GOT ME GOING. The longest I I shot was 540 yards I just rode my ATV out till I decided to stop abs ranged it I was shooting at a 24 x24 steel with a 2 inch dot on it i could stay with 3 inches of it, the wind was blowing and little wet it was this last Friday. My trigger is set at 2 Ibs. Love it. I really thank everyone for the support.
