7mmSTW is one of the most overlooked long-range calibers. It seems to be slowly dying off because people always want newer, faster, flatter, high BC, etc... I have had mine for 10, almost 11 years now. It has been a great shooter. Accurate is an understatment. Mine really loves the 160gr Accubonds with RL-19 powder, and sunk to 3.600". It also loves (have to adjust the scope, POI is different) the Nosler Custom Comp 168gr HPBT's for targets with RL-22 powder, seated at max C.O.L. of 3.600". If my scope was sighted for it, I wouldn't hesitate to take a 1,000+ shot with it. With my 160gr Accubonds, if I'm 0 dope @ 100 yards, I'm 9.5" low @ 300. 39.7" low at 500. 116.2" low at 750. And 252.8" low at 1,000 yards, still producing 1,586 fps velocity & 893 lbs of energy. And with my current 160gr Accubond setup with my current load data, I am pusing it 3,136 fps M.V. and 3,495 M.E. Needless to say, she ain't no slouch, even by today's high-performance magnum cartridges.
