7mm Remington ultramag barrel burner?

I am considering buying a 7mm remington ultramag but have been enlightened that they are prone to burn the barrels out. My question is this actually so and if so is it worth buying? My other consideration for purchase is a 338 ultramag is it a barrel burner or not? What are the pros and cons of these choices?gun)

A smith told my that it depend more about the load than the caliber.

Hot load burn faster your barell.

The big pro(to mi) for the 7 ultra is that it can be shot with out break!! In my case.
Good choice of bullet and flat shooting.

338 ultra got more energie, heavier bullet and good momentun when hiting the target. But got to have a break.. In my case.

In resume bot are great caliber, go with the one that intrest you the most and have fun.

Any big overbore cartridge is going to be hard on barrels. A lot of the powder is burned
outside the case and that is hard on throats. No magic to it.
