This is my 7mm Rem Mag. It was a gift from my father. It has transformed from a stock hunting rifle with a 3-9 tasco, to a LRH & Target rifle, and will now transform to a designated F-Class Open rifle.

Nice. Love Savages. Looks like a SWFA scope? More details!

Started its life as a 111 Hunter model. It has an adjustable Timney trigger set at 2 pounds, SWFA Straight 12 scope (Mil, Mil), Random thumbhole stock I got on a clearance sale as i dont like the "Tacticool" type stocks, I think this stock will even stay on during its life as an F-Class rifle, I like it so much, I've shouldered McMillan A-5 stocks, actual F-Class stocks, The only other stock i like as much is the thumbhole from manners, however they dont inlet for long action savage rifles. Has Blackhawk 20 MOA base, Burris Extreme Tactical scope rings. And the stock pack is from Triad Tactical. (I stuffed about an inch and a half of foam under there to get a proper cheek-weld)

Eyeing a McGowen 7mm Rem Mag barrel, Don't know if i'm ready to drop 600+ on a nicer barrel while i'm just learning.

Currently, the best group ive gotten with it is measured at .211. It averages .40 on a nice day (all at 100 yards) Pretty slick shooter for not being bedded, using a super budget stock that wasnt even branded, and a stock standard contour 24'' barrel!

My father has a near identical savage that is stainless chambered in 300 WM.

Nice find for the stock. Never heard the Random name before.

No need to change a barrel that's shooting like that. I have a Savage 116 in 25-06 with a factory barrel that shoots similar. Has 2k rounds through it now, but when it goes it will be easy to replace. Have a Savage Model 12 with a McGowen Barrel in 300 WSM. It shoots very well. I like the McGowen barrel because it cleans very easy.
