well my 120 hammers showed up this a.m. loaded them up with my same load as the 120 b.t. set them about 20thou. off the lands 1/2 moa already off work tomorrow so I will play a little more to tighten it up but as always they shoot great thanks for a great product and fabulous customer service

What caliber are you shooting and what velocity are you getting out of them? I ordered mine today and am curious as heck what to expect.
7mm08 21 inch barrel as of now its running 3027 I will start working up hotter tomorrow and see what happens this is already 40fps faster than the 120b.t. was running it seems the hammers always gain a little speed over bullets of the same weight and expect good things
How does the BC on this 120 compare to the other 120's like the NBT or TTSX?

As an open hollow point pure copper bullet, probably not quite as good. Will run a bit faster which will make up the diff out to about 500y or so.

I have fired Barnes 6.5 120 gr from 260 Rem, 6.5x55 , 6.5-06 , 264 mag & 270 Win 130gr out to my 522yd target . All have delivered a solid audible thump back. I have no doubt the 120gr 7mm shot from the 7 mag will give equal performance. I have a friend who shoots a 308 with the Barnes 130gr & it shoots to my 500yd target with no problem. Don't worry about it. Load & shoot , it will perform.

Looing at maybe getting some of these 120 HH's for my kids 7-08. It currently shoots 130 Speer BTs very well, but prefer the performance of the Hammers over a soft point, for hunting vs target practice anyway.
Does anyone have any load development for this combo they can share for reference? Hoping to find something the rifle likes with Varget, H4350, or IMR 4064.

I would run Varget and start at 41g and work a ladder from there. Should see around 3200 fps.

What powder are you thinking? Doesn't look like there is enough case capacity for H4831sc. Maybe IMR4350 or W760?

I think something in the 4350 burn range will be good. StaBALL6.5 looks like it may be the ticket.

Yes, just looked on Hodgdons website and saw StaBall and good old HV100 are probably the best choices. Plus, I have plenty of both!!
