Hi all,

Friends gave me a $75 gift card to Academy this weekend which was very kind of them. I don't normally shop there so I jumped online to see what $75 will get me. Turns out entry binoculars are pretty cheap these days! I own a pair of Vortex Diamondbacks (https://vortexoptics.com/catalog/product/view/id/1767), but they've pretty much been kidnapped by a family member. Looking for a new set to throw in my bag. I realize that I should be saving all my pennies for Swaro or similar. But I'm a simple man and I don't spend much time glassing with binocs anyway. When I spend more time out west on the glass for hours at a time, I promise I'll level up. But for now, my budget it tight. Here's what I'm seeing.

At the moment, I hunt in two places on our ranch - an open field with views out to ~900 yards, though I don't take shots that far. Most everything I look at is 500 yards and in. The other spot is back in some woods where I'm limited to 175 yards or so. We don't live in an antler restricted county so I don't "need" to count points and I'm not much of a trophy hunter so I don't need to count curls on a black buck before I take a shot.

I'm leaning towards the 10X Nikons as I've found 10X to be a pretty usable power up to this point. 16X feels like a bit much for my "in the woods" work, though I would appreciate a tripod adapter. 6X feels a little light for the big field gazing, but I could be swayed if the optics are of a higher quality. Would love to see what the people think.

Thanks!
