Me and my buddy are taking an elk trip and I'm working up loads for our guns this coming week.
He's wanting to shoot 160 gr bergers.
I'm wanting a temp sensitive powder.

H4831SC is gonna be hard to beat, I would say RL26 if you can find it. Berger can send you load info. Just email or call and ask.

Berger doesn't make a 160 gr 7mm bullet. The do make a 168 gr. I would suggest using the 168 classic hunter. It may give up a bit of BC over the hunting VLD but it is far easier to load with its hybrid ogive.

I would choose H1000. It is temp stable fills the case and was a virtual tie with Retumbo, Hybrid100V, IMR 7828,IMR 4350 and Win 780 for velocity all being a tad over 2900 fps.

RE23 or 26 if you can find it, 23 is more stable, 26 will get you more speed

Re#26 pushing 160gr missiles was top velocity in my 26" bbls 7mm WSM H1000 was 2nd . Animal won't know the difference .
