Curious as to what Hornady neck bushings you all are using? Also, are you running the neck bushing and then following with a mandrel or just using the neck bushing to set neck tension?

Need to purchase bushings and want to see which ones I should be getting. In the past I've just used standard Redding dies with a .282 mandrel.

Thanks,
Steve

Some people are giving you 6.5 bushing sizes, accidentally.
When I get to my load data I'll forward the bushing size for 7ss brass specifically. Should be very close.
Have you measured neck thickness for your specific lot of brass?

Guys, I have this figured out and have taken multiple animals with this rifle in the past 2 YEARS. LOL

Thanks though.

My gunsmith is telling me to use a .310

I know lots of saum guys are using .313 .314

I've got a 2 thousandths K&m mandrel on the way (I believe that means .282)
Good catch, that bushing is for my 6.5 SS.
I checked and I am using a .307

My rationale is this. Squeeze it a little smaller and then use a mandrel to set neck interference.

Squeeze it 3-4-5 thou smaller than what a loaded round neck OD measures.
Then open it back up with whatever mandrel gives you desired neck tension.
Make a dummy with the bullet you intend to run.
The OD on them varies too, from manufacturer to manufacturer and lot to lot.
A .0005 variance can sometimes cause issues…depending on your requirements
