7 rem mag 180 vld speeds

I am thinking of working up a load of 180 vlds for a 7 rem mag with a 26-inch barrel. I'm wondering what real-world speeds I should expect. I am looking to keep under 3000 fps for close-range optimal expansion. Does anyone have good luck with accurate loads under 3000fps?

I shoot a 7SAUM, 25" barrel and 180 VLDs. My accurate load is 2900fps. Great results at 100 yds and 460 yds on mule deer this year.

71gn of H1K gets me 2950-ish. Haven't hit pressure yet. Norma Brass, WLRM Primers, 180gn Hybrids. 26" R700 Sendero.

I'm shooting a Remington 700 with a criterion prefit 7mag barrel 1.8 twist m, adg brass 215m primer .090 of the lands and Retumbo for 2950. This is a very good node for my gun. Shot a 1.140" group at 500yards shot at 700 yards off cold barrel and smoked the plate first shot.

So I loaded up some with IMR-8133 and I'll be testing them after the new year. Looking to get them over 2,900 fps.

2986 fps from 7mag is extremely accurate.

I think most people are in the 2850-2950 nodes depending on barrel, powder. Few are a little faster.

2930 fps with RE23, 65.5 gr. and 180 VLDH. I switched away from H4831SC as it was having random pressure issues.
But RE23 got me right back to the node and matches my yardage turret.

That is what I shoot. I am getting a mv of 2916 with 69.4 gr of IMR8133. Really like that load and powder. 180 gr VLD Bergers shot through both shoulders of a 300 lb Aoudad. That is the load that came out of the Best Of The West custom shop in Cody. Very consistent. Very pleased. My ONLY concern is that it is best used on large body big game, i.e., elk, buffalo, moose. It just simply blows through all deer and does not dump the hydrostatic energy into the animal. The animal will run about 30 yds then fall over. I prefer them to "pancake" where they stand.

I have two 7mmRemMags and 2950 was tops in each. I did have some Norma 175 loads with partitions Partitions that did reach 3000 by chronograph but those are long gone. Actually I backed down some for better accuracy. Left - Mauser3000 7Mag Mag., Rack Left - Rem 700 '06, Wby.300 and 700 Rem 7mmMag & target

You will find accuracy right around 3k so you should be good, with a 28" I shoot 180hybrids at 3050fps
