I have a 7 SAUM that I am about to start loading for, and I was curious what you guys think about the berger 7mm 180 hybrid bullet. I mostly hunt coyotes and whitetail deer, but may go on a elk hunt in the next couple years.

I am specifically interested in the on game performance of the hybrid as compared to the VLD hunting bullet.

I am curious as to the answer to this also. I was just about to post the same question before I saw your post. I did find one member on here that has used them successfully on some coyotes and antelope. I am interested to see how they do on larger game like big mule deer and elk.

I shoot the 180 Hybrid exclusively out of my 7 SAUM and have been impressed with their performance. I have tried 162 A-max, 168 and 180 VLDs, and 175 SMK before the Hybrids came out. The A-max shot very good but the Hybrids shot better. This year (well, this season) I have taken two deer, two antelope, and several coyotes from 298 yds to 599yds. They do great damage, especially on coyotes. Here are a few pics, animal and then entry and exit pics as well. I don't suggest using them on coyotes if you want to sell the pelts :D
