I'm looking to push the savage striker to 1000 yards or further. I pulled a 7-08 barrel off of it to go to a 358 win. Me and my buddy want to mess around out to 1000 yards or more. Any suggestions on barrel length and bullet weight and loads.
This choice to move from a 7mm to a 35 caliber for messing around at 1000 yards seems counter-intuitive to me.I'm looking to push the savage striker to 1000 yards or further. Understood.Ernie, I guess the way I worded the post is confusing. I switched the striker from 7-08 that was an 1 moa shooter to a 358 win. I'm looking to switch the barrel to play at 1000 plus yards. Your reply with suggestions on caliber selection is what I was looking for. I'm hoping to get to wyo shot this year and push a pistol past my current benchmark of 700.
