Reloading a new barrel for shooting matches like NRL and paper for fun Targets out to 1000 yards. Proof carbon 24 inch with 135 freebore 7.5 twist Looking at the 108eldm, 105 hybrids or 108 Bergers. Shooting steel and paper. This is just a fun gun but want to shoot the best groups at distance also. Not a hunting gun.
have Peterson brass and H4350. What long range bullet do y'all have good results with.

I shoot Berger 99.9% of the time. But for grins I tried Hornady's 110 A Tip…..wow! 20" barrel 2,825 fps avg ES 8 at 4,000 EL 1,340 yd 12" steel 5 for 5 dope was 38.4 moa. Thats a .325 bc. After the string I said no way and another shooter said he found the same thing with the bullet and his bc cal was .323. That's insane.

I'm shooting a pointed 115 at 2830 from a 22" tube. With pointing I'm using .310 for the g7 to match my drops. I could get more speed, but it is very consistent which was more important for me.

These threads are often entertaining and sometimes reveal some pearls of discovery. If you get enough responses you'll find that you will have a nearly complete list of most of the target bullets available along with some data to attach to them. The unfortunate portion is that you will have difficulty assessing the data since lots of the variables are missing for each suggestion. What your barrel likes can be significant.

I have been shooting:

Badlands 100 gr. Super BD-2
Hornady 105 gr. AMAX (I have a ton of these)
Berger 105 VLD
Hornady 110 ATIP
DTAC 115 (rebated) (from 6XC)

Yesterday I found that I had 3 basically identical 6mm Bartlein barrels all 26", #15 Hunter Class contour but with 1:7", 1:7.7, 1:8" twist rates. I also reviewed some of my notes on the 6 Creedmoor vs 6 GT. These 3 barrels will all be chambered for the 6 GT cartridge which has proven to be very consistent in some of my other barrels out to 1,000 yards.

Enjoy the search and remember, 4350 may not be the end all as a powder. There are others which can prove to be a better selection.

:)
