I can hopefully let you know how a 6.5x300 wby does on desert sheep hopefully today or tomorrow

I heard of only one hunter taking a 6mm on a dall hunt. But it was a hot rod improved saum based wildcat shooting hammers at 3500 plus fps
It worked for him but he had the money to pay for it if it didnt
The guy I was hunting with in tajikistan would have probably paid for another ram for me if i would have given him my custom 300 wsm
His 6.5 prc was not good enough for those sheep
He took the wrong advice... and hes a fairly accomplished mountain hunter, with 300 plus chamois under his belt

What bullets are being used? And is the 6UM you're speaking of?

no idea just heard from one outfitter buddy that a ONE guy brought a 6 saum based cartridge

For those that are blessed with sufficient funding to throw away money….they can shoot a 22 LR for all I care.

For those, like myself, which may only get one opportunity in a lifetime…..I want the most HP in a cartridge that I shoot well loaded with the best bullets (I know subjective) that I can get!

I don't think that awards are given for the smallest cartridge/caliber used to take a sheep……only the accolade's from internet hero's!
