Hey folks! After much consideration (and arm twisting from @Barrelnut 😂) I'm putting together a Savage 6 BR-A build. Snagged a model 12 LRPV in 6 BR off Accurate Shooter a couple weeks ago and immediately ordered a 26" Full Bull 6 BR-A 1-7.5" twist prefit (as well as new lug & nut) from NSS. Then ordered some Whidden dies, Lapua brass, CCI 450's, 20 moa steel rail from Ken Farrell, CRAP this is getting expensive, Vortex 30mm medium rings, USO rail mounted anti-cant device, Berger 108gr Elite Hunters, 8" drop-tube and funnel from PMA Tool, Sightron SIII 8-32x56 (thanks again @Barrelnut) and some H4350. Yeah, that's right….H4350! That ought to raise some discussion. 😉
Gonna fire form/seating depth test with some 8208 XBR before getting down to the nitty-gritty with the H4350. Anyways, I'd like to hear about everyone's thoughts/experiences/opinions on the 6 BR and its variants! Thanks and "Sound Off"!👍

My 6BR Norma 1-8 does really well with 107 Sierria MK . Best powder to date for SD. and accuracy and speed is CFE 223. I hate the stuff because it's so dirty. MR 2000 works well also. Every one says Varget is the easy button, but I have never had a Varget load out perform anything. Like Butterbean says it's great for starting the grill.

Can't help with my load data. I'm 500 miles from my loading bench hunting in the rain right now.

8208 burns hot as Hades, but will shoot well. AA2495 works very well with those bullet weights.

6 BR, BRA, 6 BRX, and 6 Dasher. The 6 BRX is my favorite, gets to the next velocity node with ease. No flies on a 6 XC, my node with 105/107 is at 3150. The Berger 105 VLD hunting bullet is a favorite, and the 105g Hornady bthp dumps hogs. I run small primer brass(Palma) & large rifle brass(PMC/Win) in the 6 XC, 7 1/2s with H4350 in Small primer, add R#17 for another 100 fps if your brass can take it.

I run Whidden dies for all.

Deputy, try the Rem 7 1/2 & CCI 450 with the H4350, you don't know, till you know.

n540 works very well in my 6br with heavy bullets I shoot 103 Barts Dominators in mine for competition. Start at 29.0 gr and work up in 1 shot ladder test and see what it likes will probably be 30-30.8gr. If it's a 6 bra start at 30.0 gr and go up in .3gr increments. Great shooting cartridge enjoy the ride.

Well...... you found another rabbit hole. I am not a fan of fireforming. Dasher is the easy button. Good luck with a fun project!

I gotta admit, I think a 20+lbs gun in 6BR, GT, or Dasher would be a hoot to shoot! I see where the comp shooters are just wanting 2800fps to see trace & splash. I guess the BR-A, GT, Dasher get that 2800fps with less spike pressure.

I got a new Benchmark straight cut MTU profile barrel. Finish of 26". It's 7mm though. Would a 7mm Dasher be possible? I would of course design my own chamber reamer. The least powerful cartridge I know is the 708 at the moment.

I had a 6 BR with a 30" 5R 1 in 8 twist Bartlein. I normally used the 105 Bergers.

Then for fun I worked up load using 35.5 gr of IMR 8208 XBR with 55 gr Nosler BT which yielded 3900 fps. The bullet absolutely devastated the tiny boulder squirrels found around here. Was quite accurate out to 450 yds on those tiny critters. RPMs was 351,000 and just as Nosler said they would, the bullets held together.

I had a 6BR for PRS then quickly moved to 6 Dasher. During the great powder shortage, I tried H4350 for 6BR with a powder drop but greatly prefer Varget and N140. For me - one appeal of Dasher is the extra case capacity allows use of more powders.

When my 6XC barrel died I had it rebarreled to 6BRA and I am using N140 in the BRA and saving Varget for the Dasher.

Have fun
