6.5x65 RWS BRASS

Do you mean 6.5x68 or 6.5x55 I don't think there is a 6.5x65, or I have not ever heard of it. if it is oddball, I have usually seen it. I do have 20 rounds of 6.5x68 RWS brass somewhere. and Natchez has it 20 for 30.00.

Natchez has some but it is a close out sale.

I wonder if you could use 270 win or 280 Rem brass, if your 6.5x65 had a tight chamber it might work.

Thanks.....actually, I am using .270 and .280 brass now to form my Sherman cases but wanted some RWS brass and I'm hoping it is just a touch longer? It is supposed to be 2.56".........Rich

Would this help Rich?

It's supposed to be .020 longer than the 270

Thanks Mark. That is useful info but I still wonder if the brass ACTUALLY is 2.56" in length? If you look at the spec for WW or REM .270 brass it will say 2.540" but when you measure the brass itself it will likely be closer to 2.530". RWS is spendy brass and I don't want to buy a bunch and have it end up no longer than the .270 case. I recently bought some Nosler in .280 A.I. thinking I was going to get some longer brass because it was formed closer to my case and would have less shrinkage. That part was true but it only measured 2.522" to begin with..........Rich

I hear ya Rich, I don't think I've ever gotten brass that was as long as it's spec'd to be. But maybe the RWS is as long or longer than the 270 brass is supposed to be? Hope you get an answer.

Mark
Ya, that's what I'm thinking too. If it runs true to form, it should be .016" longer......Rich

I finally bought some from Natchez but I think it's GOLD not brass:D. The good news was it measured 2.552" and very consistent lengths. I have my 300in being rechambered and am anxious to try some out.........Rich
