6.5x47 Lapua velocities

Can I reasonably expect to get around 2750fps from a 24" barrel with 140 grain bullets?

We run the 130's at 2980-3000 out of a 26" barrel. I would think you could hit your target velocity with the 24" barrel.

I was shooting with a guy that just picked his new one up 2 weeks ago. During bbl break in he was getting 2900 consistantly with the 139 gr scenars.
THis was a 26" bbl also. He has since found some good loads with the 130 bergers, but said they liked the slower velocities a little better.

2900 with a 139gr sounds pretty hotgun)


I'd be happy with 2750 with 140gr Amax, anything more is a bonus
