Good evening, just wondering if anyone has any experience with the 6.5 Dakota with 160 gr Woodleigh PPSN's. I just got my rifle back from the smith and would like to get it running here before November.
The Dakota case is the greatest ever designed. Period, end of discussion.
I had the honor of paying double for dies and brass so it must be the best!
Seriously, it is a great case design and is very efficient. Just didn't have a big company pushing it.
I chose the Dakota because I think it is a great design. Plus I already had a Sako A V action that had the bolt opened up and have 100 pieces of 7 Dakota brass. IMHO, Nosler should have given their cartridges longer necks. I also believe that if Dakota had rebated their rim, they would have been a huge success.
The Dakota rounds are great, the oddball rim size is what hurt them in my opinion. They were ahead of their time and would have been very successful if they would have had a standard magnum rim diameter.
