When I see a well made Video I like to share it with the membership. We can/will still have our opinions, but this is a good comparison in my opinion.

There has been a lot of talk about which cartridge is the best and this video seems to be unbiased so the viewer can make his choice based on a good comparison.

I know, everyone is getting tired of these comparisons, but hear it is.

the 270 wcf made its reputation with a 130 gn bullet moving 3160, a 708 will push a 120 bt bullet 3100 plus. give them all 24 inch bbl.'s the 270 still wins. the 270 will also push a 140 bullet 2900 plus. its still not a fare comparison pitting two short actions against one long action for Weight come on ! I call foul again........... when numbers are fudged its not apples to apples. of the three rounds I own a semi-custom 708 and a factory semi-custom 270 wcf. no need for the 6.5 cm. A better test would be 708vs6.5cm, there they are so close it aint funny. no i'll stick to the two I own, havent drank the 6.5 cool-aid , no plans too.

No problem pushing a 139gr bullet to over 2900fps in my factory 22" 7mm-08. Also 162's at over 2700 from 22" barrel in the 7mm-08. With those numbers I fail to see the need for a 270 at all.

With he newer powders, a 24" 270 will push a 150 to 3000 pretty easy. 140'a to 3100. The 270 simply outclasses both of these other cartridges, but it should, it's a bigger case.

Guess I wont post my numbers for a 26" 7mm-08 with 139 and 162gr. 270 wins them all.

great points 257 tony, thats why the two short action cases should battle it out. hometownhero, post some of your numbers from your 26 inch 708 bbl, that way 6.5 shooters with the same length can compare and see, if their close or not. my 708 sports a 27 inch bbl, giggle giggle .

Since I have a 6.5 cm with 26" barrel I'll post my numbers
143 eldx at 2739fps. I've verified the velocity out to 1k.

I agree, bigger case is hard to beat. Compare the 270 to a 257wby or 26nosler.
Run the numbers on a 123sst out of a 6.5cm vs a 25-06 with 115vld. It's interesting. But no one wants to hear about 120s out of a creed lol

How does the 6.5 fare with a 22" barrel? Seems to me that the 7mm-08 is less affected by a shorter tube than either of the other two but I've only done chrony work with my '08s
I like the versatility of the 7mm, 110 TNTs up to 175s (heavy match bullets excluded) can cover a lot of situations.

A bigger bore = more powder burnt per inch of barrel. So 7mm-08 will beat a 6.5 that way and 308 will beat the 7mm-08 in that regard.
A buddy has a 22" cm we will be working up a load for shortly. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to my 26". I know my 26" is a lot more pleasant to shoot because of less muzzle flash/noise

canh35 ,remember apples to apples,270 compared to 257 bee and 26 nosler that's cheating friend,6.5 cm vs 25/06 not same powder capacity 2nd foul again. do tell about 120's out of your cm.thks

lol I know the 270 compared to the others isn't fair, that's why I used it as an example of why the 270 is hard to beat with the 6.5 and 7mm-08. The 6.5 and 7 are good comparisons.

I'll post numbers on 123s tonight
Could you post number on you 7mm-08 with the 27" bbl?

agreed comparing the 6.5 vs 708 is better ,and ive said that from the beginning!
ok post your 123's yes i'll post some of mine ,thks
