We all know the H4350/140gr/1:8 recipe for LR target.

I have a HS Precision Bolt 1:9 26in hunting rifle which was built for the 120-130gr projectiles. I am getting ready to work up my first load for this rifle with most likely 120-123gr bullets.

As I am going to be shooting a lighter bullet in a slower twist at higher velocity than the norm, would it make any sense to try a slightly faster burning powder than the 'go to's' as the bullet is going to leave the barrel sooner with less pressure? Or am I overthinking something that really wont be noticeable in my longer barrel?

So I am not overthinking!?

Thx yeah varget is definitely higher up on the burn list than H4350. Also last night I was reading some Aussie accuracy shooter posts on using a VV powder they with their 6.5x47 which is a cooler burning powder. But I lost the reference so have to start over. Cool and fast might be a great combo to get right.

H4350 (very generally) works well in mid weight bullets. In my opinion it works with the 140 in the creedmoor because it isn't a rocket ship load. If you have H4350 on hand, try it. you will probably get excellent accuracy and velocity with temperature stability.

As mentioned Varget is really predictable. Easy to work up a load.
