6.5-47 Lapua

Very nice gun and groups. Care to share your bullet and powder combo? I've only tried 130 Berger hunting and H4350 in my 6.5x47. Picked up some Varget to try with 140's.

Whats your speed on that 4350? It always ran slow for me , im on my third barrel in 47' and kinda bored with varget and 4166, thought about revisiting 4350 or 4451 with the heavies

My 130 Berger load uses 42.2 gr H4350. Just shy of 3000 fps. I'm curious to what speed Joel is getting as well.

I don't even know what NALRSA is...I'm guessing North American Long Range Shooters Association, and I could confirm it with Google, but I'm too many drinks into the evening to bother. The point of my reply is that the group posted by the OP is freaking amazing. The rifle is something to behold, yes, but that group could not be achieved by me with that rifle and exact load if I'd had 1,000 hours of practice beforehand.

Well done! This forum constantly reminds me that I have a lot to learn and even more to practice...think I'll work on that this weekend some.

I'm getting 2,780 fps out of a 24" barrel with the 140 gr hybrid. I can run it faster, but don't see any reason to. Our 20" barreled rifle shoots the same load at the same speed with the same accuracy.

I took advantage of the 40* sunny day yesterday, and shot some steel. I have AR 500 enroute but couldn't wait, so I hung some mild steel to get me by.

First three shot group at 500 yards. There's two in the bottom hole. This combination continually amazes me..

I'm feeling a little better about the North American Long Range Shooting Association finals in two weeks, I just hope the wind Gods are in my favor.
